Pass links let you add clickable URLs to the back of your members' wallet passes. Use them to drive traffic to your website, promote offers, or share important resources — all directly from the pass in your members' wallets.
Navigating to Pass Links
From the sidebar, go to Customize > Pass Links, or visit dashboard.getpocketpass.com/customize/links directly. You will see a list of all your existing pass links and their current status.
Creating a New Link
Click the Add Link button to create a new pass link. You will need to provide:
Label text — The text that members see on the back of their pass (e.g., View Our Menu, Book an Appointment, Follow Us on Instagram).
URL — The full destination URL that opens when the member taps the link.
Audience Targeting
Choose which members see the link by configuring audience targeting. You can target links to:
All members across all tiers
Members of specific tiers only
This lets you show different links to different membership levels. For example, you might share an exclusive booking link only with your VIP tier members.
Scheduling
Control when links are visible by setting start and end dates:
Start date — The date and time when the link becomes active and appears on passes.
End date — The date and time when the link is automatically removed from passes.
Scheduling is perfect for time-limited promotions, seasonal offers, or event-specific links that should only be visible during a certain window.
Click Tracking Analytics
Every pass link includes built-in click tracking. You can view analytics on how many times each link has been tapped by members. This data helps you understand which links drive the most engagement and optimize your pass content accordingly.
How Links Appear on the Pass
Links are displayed on the back of the wallet pass as tappable items. When a member flips their pass over, they see the label text for each active link. Tapping a link opens the destination URL in the member's browser.
Push Notification on Link Addition
When a new link is added to a pass, you have the option to send a push notification to members whose devices support it. This alerts members that new content is available on their pass and encourages them to check it out. The push notification is optional and can be configured when creating or activating the link.
Link Status Workflow
Each link follows a status workflow:
Draft — The link is created but not yet active on any passes.
Scheduled — The link has a future start date and will activate automatically.
Active — The link is currently visible on member passes.
Expired — The link's end date has passed and it is no longer visible.
You can edit, deactivate, or delete links at any stage of the workflow.
Tips
Keep label text short and action-oriented so members know exactly what they will find when they tap.
Use scheduling for promotions to avoid manually activating and deactivating links.
Review click tracking regularly to understand which links resonate with your members.
Use audience targeting to personalize the pass experience for different tiers.
Limit the number of active links to avoid cluttering the back of the pass — focus on your most important calls to action.
Take advantage of push notifications sparingly to avoid notification fatigue among your members.
