The Settings area includes three tabs for organizing and enriching your member data: Tags, Custom Properties, and Locations.
Tags
Navigate to dashboard.getpocketpass.com/settings/tags to manage your tags.
Tags are free-form labels you can attach to members for segmentation. They are used for filtering member lists, targeting audiences in campaigns, and triggering automations.
Viewing tags: The tags list shows every tag in your account along with the number of members assigned to each one.
Creating a new tag: Click Create Tag, enter a name, and save. The tag is immediately available to assign to members.
Deleting a tag: Click the delete icon next to any unused tag to remove it. If a tag is currently assigned to members, you will need to remove it from those members first or confirm bulk removal.
Custom Properties
Navigate to dashboard.getpocketpass.com/settings/properties to define custom data fields for member profiles.
Custom properties let you capture information beyond the standard member fields. Each property has the following configuration:
Property Type: Text, Number, Date, Boolean, or Select (dropdown with predefined options).
Visibility: Private (visible only to admins in the dashboard) or Public (also shown on the signup page and customer portal).
Required: When enabled, this field must be filled in during signup.
Display Order: Controls the order in which properties appear on forms and profiles.
Creating a property: Click Add Property, configure the type, visibility, and other options, then save.
Editing a property: Click on an existing property to update its name, type, visibility, or required status.
Deleting a property: Remove a property you no longer need. Note that deleting a property will remove its data from all member profiles permanently.
Locations
Navigate to dashboard.getpocketpass.com/settings/locations to manage your predefined business locations.
Locations are used for geofence-based notifications. When a member with your wallet pass enters or exits a defined location radius, they can receive a push notification on their device.
Adding a location: Click Add Location and provide:
Name — A friendly name for the location (e.g., "Downtown Store").
Address — The street address of the location.
Coordinates — Latitude and longitude for precise geofencing.
These locations can be referenced by Location Notifications under the Engage section of the dashboard.
Editing and deleting locations: Click on any location to update its details, or remove it if the location is no longer active.
Tips
Use consistent naming conventions for tags (e.g., "vip", "2024-spring-promo") to keep them organized as your list grows.
Set commonly needed fields as Public and Required so they are captured during signup without manual data entry later.
Use Select type properties when you want to restrict values to a predefined list — this keeps your data clean.
Double-check coordinates when adding locations to ensure geofence notifications trigger at the right place.
Review your tags periodically and clean up any that are no longer in use to keep your segmentation options tidy.
