Connecting a sales channel allows Pocket to automatically sync order data from your point-of-sale or e-commerce platform. This enables powerful features like spend-based tier upgrades, loyalty earning, automatic punch card stamping, and RFM member segmentation.
Why Connect a Sales Channel?
Without a sales channel, you can still run a membership program with manual reward credits and push notifications. However, connecting a channel unlocks:
Automatic order tracking — member spend is recorded and displayed on their profile.
Spend-based tier upgrades — members automatically move to higher tiers when they hit spend thresholds.
Loyalty earning — members earn reward credit for every dollar spent (e.g., earn $1 for every $10 spent).
RFM segmentation — members are automatically categorized as Champions, Loyal, Recent, Needs Attention, At Risk, or Inactive based on their purchase behavior.
Punch card automation — punch cards can be stamped automatically when orders come through.
Member Insights — dashboard widgets for Repeat Purchase Rate, Spend Per Member, and Lifetime Value.

Connecting During Onboarding (Step 2)
On the Connect Sales Channel step, select your platform from the list.
Follow the OAuth authorization flow — you'll be redirected to your platform to grant Pocket access.
Once authorized, you'll be redirected back to Pocket with a confirmation.
Click Save & Continue to proceed to Step 3.
Connecting Later
If you skip this step during onboarding, you can connect a sales channel anytime from Settings > Sales Channels. See the dedicated Sales Channels articles for detailed setup guides for each platform.
Tips
You can connect multiple sales channels simultaneously — orders from all channels will be merged for each member.
Order matching is done by email address. Ensure your POS captures customer emails for accurate tracking.
After connecting, it may take a few minutes for historical orders to sync.
